Construction Project Engineer

Essential Functions:

Prepare and disseminate all required documentation. Expedite and/or hand deliver critical items. Obtain/organize closeout documents. Interpret designs/drawings from architects and for subcontractors as required. Research, recommend resolutions to drawing interpretations problems, conflicts, interference, and errors. Verify all completed work complies with applicable codes, drawings, and specifications. Distribute punch lists to subcontractors, assist in monitoring, coordinate with PM and accounting. Assist project manager in obtaining permits required by municipal, county, and state agencies. Establish a submittal and RFI logs and maintain throughout like of project. Send notices to subcontractors requesting required submittals/samples for approval with deadline. Notify project manager of abnormal situations or activities. Attend some meetings as requested by project manager or in absence of project manager. Resolve problems amicably. Monitor general and special conditions expenditures. Perform additional assignments per project manager’s direction

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, and Experience:

4 year engineering degree, architectural, or equivalent experience in construction. Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings & specifications, building materials and required standards applicable to discipline. Comfortable in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with others. Works well with Microsoft Office and Excel.
